Thanks! I’ll try again.

BTW @Travis: I also encountered the CAPTCHA when trying to register a new account.

I can’t log on to the CBB.

They added a CAPTCHA which was in fine print, so I got it wrong too many times and my account was suspended. Also, they fixed it so you can’t see users’ IDs nor profiles nor e-mail addresses unless you’re logged on, So I can’t write to the admins, which is what they say to do if you can’t logon. ….....

I admire this idea and want to do something like it.
A language with Polynesian-like lexicon, Semitic-like morphology, and Japanese-like syntax, maybe.

You don't have to include them all.
I’m thinking that world-final click could be pronounced only once.

I will be very engaged by any congrammar which adequately handles, or valiantly attempts to handle, all or even most of the questions raised by this: https://listserv.brown.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind0605C&L=CONLANG&P=R17413&X=DA5CBE49208BBF14C5&Y=eldin_raigmore%40yahoo.com Or here: http:/...

Re: Great Skjajræ [ˈɕcɐ.ɾʲæ] Empire Conlang Scratchpad (currently, Skjajræfæ [ɕcɐˈɾʲæ.fʲæ])

I just thought of having articularily-adjacent voiceless fricatives/affricates alternate (cf. [f~θ]) in the protolanguage. I'm aware that Hawaiian does a restricted version of something like this with its /k/ being [k] initially but [t] elsewhere. Do any natlangs to something closer to my idea? Spa...

Ive got it!
It’s sitting in my condo’s parking spot right now!
I drove it home from my sister’s house in 18 hours.
In an hour or so I’m going to take it out to run some close-to-home errands! Like I couldn’t do the week before I left to get it!

(Grin) And just how many times have you seen that happen, Mr. Chappell? The next time will be the first! ;) ——— Serious answer; whenever a congrammar includes some feature I still haven’t figured out, I want to see how that conlanger handles it. So my answer is probably in constant flux. I d...

Re: Deadly Sins of Worldbuilding

My understanding was that Brazil was given to Portugal out of sympathy. The original explorers didnt know where the newly discovered land would end, so they drew a line on the map and gave what they thought was a fair share of it to Spain and to Portugal. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/comm...

I consider a congrammar to be “engaging” when it answers “yes” to a proposal of marriage.

Yes, that, too.
So how do you say “misrepresent”?

How do you call it in English when you try to take a step, and your foot somehow comes down wrong, and, as a result, something in your foot hurts for a while? "To twist one's ankle"? Colloquially, my ‘lect and every ‘lect I remember ever hearing, says “I twisted my ankle”. Formally/techni...
