Barakhinei typo
Was cruising around the grammar section of your site and happened to notice a typo in the Barakhinei orthography section.
"we should write dh th kh as single characers", where there should be a t in the last word in the quote.

Re: Random Thread
Assuming, for the sake of argument, that religion actually does promote moral behavior in the way I take is being argued for, I suspect the reason largely boils down to certain veins of religion making the point that 'hey, we live in a society, you know', and if we* conclude that the other tenets o...

Nooo, I rather liked the spelling with a y!
I have no profound commentary right now, but I have been following updates on these guys whenever I notice a new thread about them, so keep it up.

Re: Random Thread
My observation is that religiosity and morality are orthogonal to each other - using whatever reasonable and commonplace standard of morality we like, how religious someone is tends to drive how they justify their moral behavior rather than determining whether they are moral. I have seen moral and i...

Re: Venting thread that is tentatively once again all-inclusive
It's not very visible anymore, but several years ago I got a bad cut just below one of my eyebrows and was told I looked "badass" by an opposite-sex acquaintance sometime during the period when it still was stitched up. I would prefer to have had avoided the injury in the first place, but ...

Re: Flaidish holidays and Irreanism
No problem, thanks. The non-humans are probably the thing I am looking forward to the most in the Almea+400 project and the Flaids are the ones I always had a soft spot for.

Re: Flaidish holidays and Irreanism
What was the state of affairs regarding holidays during the times of Flaidish paganism, if you have any sense of it?

Flaidish holidays and Irreanism
Is the lack of rites, etc in Irreanism specifically a tenet of the religion, or more of a cultural practice of the Flaids which has been integrated into Irreanism, insofar as those poles might be distinct things?
Re: Almea+400
Yeah, looks like Xurno may be in for some turmoil. I had wondered how long the Revaudo state would last.
I also liked the references to Bidbo’s number and Nošcerey’s number; two intriguing individuals who already had Almeopedia pages.

Planets of the Incatena
I see a new blurb has been added since I last looked at the 'Click the Incatena' page, describing Nymondo. I assume from the name of the planet that its conlang is probably broadly similar to the early twentieth century auxlangs but am curious whether you had any specific ideas in mind for it. Also,...

Re: The Bugs - request for TCs
I don't know if it specifically has to be calculus, but it would be interesting to see what they know about and how they would approach math, e.g. some axioms from Euclidean geometry or something. (My impression is that the bugs probably haven't discovered calculus yet, or else learned about it from...

Re: Incatena planetary settlement
Thanks for the response. I’ll roll with it. How would an AI nanny/teacher work? It sounds like a great recipe for feral children to me. My thinking when I came up with the idea was that if it had even a small chance of success, someone with either unusual views (e.g. let’s have a planet where they s...

Incatena planetary settlement
The Incatena pages suggest that colony ships for initial settlement of a stellar system would have about a thousand people on them. Is there anything preventing someone from putting, say, ten thousand or a million frozen fetuses on a ship and having AI raise the children when they arrive at their de...

Re: British Politics Guide
An update n the Dr Bateman vs. JRM situation; she has appeared on Good Morning Britain, again naked, but this time with blur because morning TV, and has once again challenged JRM to a debate, but this time has dropped her demand for JRM to be nude like her, much to everyone's relief. Am I the only ...
