Re: The Index Diachronica

I’ve contacted zompist about opening up a new subforum; he’s amenable to the idea. I also registered indexdiachronica.com last night, so we could have a domain and web hosting.

Re: The Index Diachronica

Would it be worth it developing a dedicated web site? Like how the old KneeQuickie pages were, except beefier and cited and all…I realize this kind of defeats the purpose of having the master list as a PDF, but maybe it would be better that way. Maybe a group project webspace at the LCS, if they'd h...

Well, I sent a package with a bass guitar in it to someone and it arrived damaged, and UPS’ site is making it difficult for me to file a claim.

I just tried depositing $360 into an ATM. It rejected $40 of it, then took my money and rejected the transaction entirely. Now I’m out $320.

Most impressive! Ooh, very nice! Enjoy! Thank you! I bring this up to say that I just started a band that I think the board will be amused by, as the name of said band is "Seven Kill Steel". Tis a good name. {at the very least, give that name to the drums} With one major exception, I name...

This: https://i.imgur.com/y8g1z03.jpg is the Crystal Ship. I bought the Crystal Ship a couple years ago. It's a Tama Silverstar Mirage; originally I passed on them, and then when I decided I wanted one, it had been long enough that their production (limited run) had ceased and not long enough that p...

Something I kind of realized the other day: For me, tool and tulle are not homonyms. Tool has two syllables whereas tulle has one. Is this common? Does anyone else do this?

Re: Twin Aster

I'm attempting to figure out what the function of the Proto-Beheic *e -infix was. It survives in Proto-O as the *e -infix, but even there I have conflicting/contradictory information: It was either related to nominalizing verbs or some sort of participancy/valency marker—it showed up in the nominati...

Re: Twin Aster

In attempting to redo O, I came across a word I liked, *bɛʔe 'person'. I like the sound of "Beheic" better than "Tim Ar-O", and I'm inclined to apply "Beheic" as its own term as I've decided it's sort of a Nostratic for Íröd. So I'm weighing whether to change it to &quo...

Some spelling reforms happen, inspired by the French.

[ʒdʒɛi]

Language 2: [ɰ] > Ø

Nice! Shouldn't the opposite of 'despair' be 'hope' though? Perhaps. I suppose the concepts don't quite line up, though. -------------------------------- I'd like to go into more detail about the Messerini line , lest people get the wrong impression.
