so I'd find an Earth-like phonology immersion-breaking. I agree https://www.frathwiki.com/images/thumb/e/ec/Snake_mouth.jpg/400px-Snake_mouth.jpg all labial articulations ([m], etc.; no lips) But they have maxillary On the other hand nonlabial stop would be impossible. c̆ <r> I wonder how is your anatomy of your speaker's mouth /notsarcastic? If possible, please give us spectogram on how the native speaker's saying each phoneme. The palatal flap you pulled out came to be <r>through dissimulation. Originally, [ɾ̥~ɺ̥] was <r> and [c̆~ʎ̮̊] was <rj>. Then, [ɾ̥~ɺ̥ → ɬ...

Re: Vedreki Scratchpad

When telling a agglutinative conjugation (also declension if the declension is also complex), please give us verb slot table. This makes the grammar far easier to read. The example is this for isiZulu: https://ai2-s2-public.s3.amazonaws.com/figures/2017-08-08/f86286926b377333286d8d80b011e0abaf319b5d...

However yangfiretiger121 designs their conlangs is invariably how not to design a conlang. I disagree. The phonology is strange and surreal. But as I learned with alice's conlang , an unrealistic language is a lot of fun, although it's hard to get right. Seriously, a naturalistic conlang only requi...

Re: Different word categories to express a concept

In Indonesian, frequentity adverbs (sering, jarang, though not kadang-kadang) in English are often expressed via auxiliary verbs (The dictionary says adverbs, but the syntax says that it's auxiliary verb). Kemarin aku pergi ke pasar || Sering aku pergi ke pasar || Sudah aku pergi ke pasar Aku kemari...

About Concordial Verb-Classes, Kayardild comes close. In Kayardild, noun declined in some cases (the thematic case ones) agree with the verb in TAM. Example: ngada waanangku wangarru ngijinmarunangku thabujumarunangku ŋat̪-ta waː-c-naŋ-kuu-Ø waŋar-kuu ŋicu-iɲ-maɻu-t̪-naŋ-kuu-Ø t̪apucu-maɻu-t̪-naŋ-ku...

/i ɨ o ɛ a/ ⟨i ɨ o e a⟩ /ø/ is phonemic. Medial cluster assimilate in voicing. and Is this a typo? Also, you wrote that /táh/ is [táh] in the sample text. Shouldn’t it be [táħ]? Yup, fixed. Also the /e/ is typo except for /ie/ part. I'm also not sure about making the diphthong /ie/ or /iɛ/. Sakha: ...

Please check the text before playing the game, I never learned Latin at school. You're quite inconsistent in your phonetic transcription. I would go for: [hyˈae̯.naːs ˈsɪŋ.ɡʊ.liːs ˈan.niːs naːˈtuː.rãː muːˈtaː.rɛ ˈfæ.rʊnt | ɛt kʲʷiː ˈmɔ.dɔ ˈmaːs ˈfʊ.ɪt | dɛˈɪndɛ ĩː ˈfeː.mɪ.nãː kɔnˈwær.tiː ‖ kʊm ˈoː....

Both of those sound fine although I'd think the /ʷɯ/ sequence would be phonetically close to [ʷu] if there is no contrasting bare /u/. It looks like you even have some plans for an allophonic [ u] unless that second question is for a different language... also, I think the following /a/ isnt necess...

Is Indonesian language pronounciation included? I used to pronounce manga as [man.ga]. It turns out that it's pronounced [maŋ.ɡa], the same as mangga. The funny thing being that in most European languages, /n.g/ becomes [ŋ.ɡ], so [maŋ.ɡa] is the automatic option for most of us. Cool to hear from an...

Well, the short answer is "I dunno" and the medium answer is "Oh lord, Čia-Ša..." Which is to say, it's one of the glaring holes in the Eastern family and I hope to fill it in someday. The original idea, 30 years ago, was to play with monosyllabic roots, but that's never entirel...
