New American

This is a more fleshed out version of the "Simplified English" in the thread NOTE: This is not a criticism of Reconstruction or an endorsement of white supremacy 1. Setting This isn't really plausible, but an US which underwent successful Reconstruction (1870s) under a Radical Republican a...

Why aren’t there Latinizations of Islamic terms if “caliph” (Khalif) is latinized. E.g <ictihadus> for “ijtihad” or <fichus> for “fiqh”

Re: United States Politics Thread 46

Maybe a solution to incipient authoritarianism among the “anti wokes”, technocrats etc is to promote a sort of socially radical utilitarianism. Basically the state doesn’t care about your race/religion/gender/language group and enforces tolerance with an iron fist as long as you Serve the State - ki...

Re: Capitalism: the cause of and solution to all life's problems

And from a cultural perspective, people who are usually on the left but dislike cities look pretty contradictory to me. I mean, I strongly disagree with right-wingers who dislike cities, but at least they have a certain internal consistency on that matter. People who are usually on the left but dis...

Also, assuming you’re the government and you try to use eminent domain to seize a quarter of the country’s private land to build farms and small towns to redistribute urbanites to, what steps can you do to 1) prevent the formation of an aggrieved landowner class 2) convince most urbanites that life ...
