Re: Conlang Random Thread
I really, really need to get back into conlanging. Maybe even revamp Sodemeresh (it's not very sound, grammatically speaking).

Re: Conlang Random Thread
Not metatypy, but I've been having fun putting Sodemeresh loanwords into Estreri. Which is how the word sirtuke ('to sail') came into Estreri, even though in its original language sirtuke is infinitive and Estreri lacks infinitives. My explanation for this is that Soduar is coastal, Estrer is landlo...

Re: Conlang Random Thread
Though I do have both korme ('to stand') and kore ('to hang', both things and people) so I imagine there'd be a few dark little puns about that in the conworld Sodemeresh is native to. Also, it's now 1300 words.

Re: Conlang Random Thread
How do you go about creating words? Most of the time I honestly just throw together sounds I like that fit Sodemeresh's grammar, but as the lexicon's gotten bigger I've started to create words like dirikhamo (mask), which is something of an amalgation of dirikusha (face) and hamio/hamia (the femini...

The apostrophe in menharau'b shows that it's short for menharau bur (bur's the negation particle). It's basically the equivalent of English's (for example) don'tAlso, what does the apostrophe represent?

Re: Conlang Random Thread
That seems very interesting. What're these 'other reasons', though? And btw, yesterday Sodemeresh reached 1,200 words! Hoping to get it to 1,234 by Thursday. I've also decided to make the negation system a particle thing, because it's more convenient, less of a hassle, and fits nicely with the tense...

Re: La Chakhi Sodemeresh
I'm pretty sure my lexicon is around 1k by now. Helped by the fact that I decided I was going to do 10 words a day in November (using a Verb Ajective Noun rotation bcs it's easy to remember) and actually succeeded, resulting in at least 300 new words since my last count, which was like 694.

Yes, 'fomazu' is the first person singular. And hopefully the bolding/underlining/italicizing should be fixed now.

La Chakhi Sodemeresh
A showcase of my first ever & also current main conlang (I only got into this October), Sodemeresh, spoken by the people of Soduar on the southernmost part of the continent Silandriel (the world is called Lyros). The Sodemeresh people are highly influential on neighboring countries via trade and...
