Reverse Rominazation Challenge Thread, v2.0
might as well add the reverse now
You post a romanization, cyrillization, etc. and then you figure out a phonology for it.
let's start off with:
b bb c d dd f g gw h j k kw l m mp n nt ñ ŋ ŋk ŋkw ŋw p r s t w y
a ɛ e i ɔ o u
Tones: high, mid, low

Re: Reverse Rominazation Challenge Thread, v2.0
I would prefer making it a single thread.
ìtsanso, God In The Mountain, may our names inspire the deepest feelings of fear in urkos and all his ilk, for we have saved another man from his lies! I welcome back to the feast hall kal, who will never gamble again! May the eleven gods bless him!

You're supposed to do a phonology after, just to clarify. I started the first RRCT as I call it. So we can have a new one to start with
I guess I'll do it...

Re: Reverse Romanization Challenge Thread, v2.0
Oh, do we have to put one? I thought this was like the Romanization Challenge Thread, where everyone keeps on replying to the same problem until someone else suggests a new one.
Anyway. here’s a new one:
⟨a b ƃ d ď ƌ e ẹ f ɣ ƣ h i k l m n ň ŋ o ọ q r ṙ s t ť u w y z ʔ ʌ ʌ̣⟩
Vowels may be modified by the following diacritics:
⟨a á ả â a̍ ä aƞ⟩
When vowels are doubled, the modifier goes on the second vowel.
(Note: the diacritic after ⟨â⟩ is meant to be a vertical line above, but you may need to zoom in to see it)
Sample text:
⟨ƃa̍s yw kʌ̣p ƌoön γảŋsẃ hoʔ meeƞqâ dẹƞtŵ sëp ŵs ƣa ťaa̍ŋ ro⟩
_______
(PS: I’ve corrected the spelling error in the title in this reply)

á = high modal voice
ả = low-falling breathy voice
â = high-falling creaky voice

Double letter indicates length, except in open syllable where all vowels are long. (like Thai.)

There is some tone sandhi at work here. High becomes high raising after low or falling tone. Falling tone also becomes mid-tone after to low or falling tone.
Next: (Let's reassign Latin alphabet):
A B C D E F G H I K L M N O P QV R S T V X
Additionally, there is acute accent over A I V E and O. Q never occurs without V.

Re: Reverse Romanization Challenge Thread, v2.0
I tried to make something as different as possible to Latin, but there’s only so much you can do with that alphabet:
⟨P T C QV K⟩ /p t k kʷ ʔ/
⟨B D G⟩ /b d g/
⟨F S X H⟩ /f s ʃ h/
⟨L⟩ /l/
⟨A E I O V⟩ /a ə i u v̩/ (NB. the last ‘vowel’ is a syllabic /v/)
Acute accent represents high tone. No accent represents low tone.
EDIT: Switched all the letters from lowercase to the original Latin uppercase
________
I don’t have another one for you to do right now, sorry. I’ll post a new alphabet as soon as I think of something interesting!

Re: Reverse Rominazation Challenge Thread, v2.0
Actually, I have another idea for the same alphabet — but hopefully this one’s much more interesting! It’s inspired by Babm (/bɔˈɑːbɔmu/), a conlang most notable for using the English alphabet as a syllabary. So can we do this with the Latin alphabet as well?
Firstly, ignoring ⟨qv⟩ for now, there are 20 letters in the Latin alphabet — a nice round number. For our purposes, this can be considered as 10 onsets × 2 vowels. I’ll set the vowels as /ɑ ə/; a reasonable set of onsets is the null onset + /p t k f s h m n j/. So we can start assigning letters to syllables:
⟨A E⟩ /ɑ ə/
⟨P T K⟩ /pɑ tɑ kɑ/
⟨B D G⟩ /pə tə kə/
⟨F S H⟩ /fɑ sɑ hɑ/
⟨V X R⟩ /fə sə hə/
⟨M N I⟩ /mɑ nɑ jɑ/
⟨O L C⟩ /mə nə jə/
Now, what about ⟨qv⟩? I’ve decided arbitrarily that it raises the vowel of the preceding syllable (maybe because ⟨V⟩ /u/ is a high vowel?). So we actually get a four-vowel system: //ɑ ə ɑQV əQV// → /ɑ ə u i/. So now we can write stuff like:
⟨AL HQVOL BQVCQVLX A PQVL VHEQV…⟩
/ɑ.nə hu.mə.nə pi.ji.nə.sə ɑ pu.nə fə.hə.i …/
Admittedly, it’s not the best rendition of the start of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which I’ve ever seen, but I think it’s impressive that anything can be done with this writing system at all!

Something minimalistic and cute from my latest D&D game. I'll give y'all a hint: there are two letters denoting two allophones and a single phoneme.
m n mm nn
b p pp d t tt g k kk
f s z h
v w l r
a e i o u
m n mm nn

⟨f s z h⟩ /f s z h/
⟨v w l r⟩ [v w l r]
⟨a e i o u⟩ /a e i o u/
The allophones are [l] and [r]. (Or possibly [v] and [w].)
