- [ʃ] > [s]
- [ə ʊ̃ ã ɪ̃] > [ø ø̃ õ ɛ̃]
- Postvocalic [r] > [ə]
- Other terminal consonants are deleted with compensatory lengthening of the preceding vowel, unless another vowel follows, in which case lengthening still occurs, but the consonant is ejected across the morpheme boundary;
- Nasals eject [n] to the beginning of a following word
- Half-long vowels are fully lengthened, the pitch accent is lost;
- [ɨə ɨː ɪ:] merge to [iː]
- [ɸ x s] > [ç ç ɕ] before [i]; [ʊ] > [y] after [j]
- A few minor orthographic changes:
- Where pronounced [x~ç], "bh" and "bhr" are reduced to "h" and "hr", "z" pronounced thus is respelled "zh".
- Where pronounced [br]iː[/br], "i" is replaced with "ŷ";
- Instances of "t" pronounced [s~ɕ] are replaced with "s".
- Where pronounced [p], "k" is replaced by "p";
- Instances of "bh" pronounced [ɸ] are replaced with "ph"
- Instances of "ny" pronounced [x] are replaced by "nh"
- Oral [ø] is spelled "e";
- When indicating a nasal vowel, final "m" is replaced by "n";
- Instances of "u" pronounced [ɨ] are replaced with "y";
- Accents indicating length are all replaced with circumflexes;
- Instances of [ø̃] may also be spelled "wen".
