Plural of "iliu" when talking about them in English?

Post by Raphael »

Some recent developments over on the Patreon made me wonder what the proper plural of "iliu" is when talking about the species in English. I used to think that it was "iliî", but that is apparently not the case.

I've been using "iliu" as both singular and plural lately. Like "Bantu" or "Chinese" or "deer", I guess. It sounds better to me than "ilius".

In Cuzeian contexts I used the Cuêzi plural iliū.

Iliî is Verdurian, of course, so that's certainly not incorrect.

For a third option, the Historical Atlas (at least the print/old orthography one) uses "ilii".

Yeah, that was intended as an anglicization of iliî.
