Board MySQL issues
Board MySQL issues
For the last couple days, when trying to access the board, I've often gotten MySQL "too many connections" errors. I remember this appearing before in the past; this may or may not be underlyingly the same issue.

Re: Board MySQL issues
This happened to me yesterday too, if that's of any help.
Self-referential signatures are for people too boring to come up with more interesting alternatives.

Re: Board MySQL issues
Apparently we are so popular that the server sometimes fails to handle the traffic
Re: Board MySQL issues
it is perhaps something less cheerful...
Re: Board MySQL issues
I haven’t gotten this recently.
Really? I haven’t noticed that many users lately.WeepingElf wrote: ↑Sun May 14, 2023 6:33 am Apparently we are so popular that the server sometimes fails to handle the traffic

Perhaps a bot running wild. But I plainly don't know.

Re: Board MySQL issues
I know this is unsatisfying, but I don't know what the problem is or how to fix it. I did Google the error, but didn't find anything useful.
I haven't experienced it myself. Perhaps time of day is important?
Those who have, does it repeat? Does it go away if you try again later?

Re: Board MySQL issues
It seems to be a transient issue. It recurs if you refresh the page a few times; give it a couple minutes and it goes away, but its occurrence is unpredictable.
Re: Board MySQL issues
If it occurs at a specific time of day, I haven't noticed it. Last time I had the issue, it was around 2-3 PM central time.zompist wrote: ↑Tue May 16, 2023 5:04 pm I know this is unsatisfying, but I don't know what the problem is or how to fix it. It goes away after maybe fifteen minutes.
Re: Board MySQL issues
I just got the 'too many connections' error -- it went away after a minute or two.
I don't know how your hosting is set up, but I suspect your host may be a little stingy with the DB connections, or you're sharing a mysql server with sites that are currently getting heavier traffic than usual.
