Es gibt zwei Verben "übersetzen", von denen eines trennbar ist und das andere nicht. Das Verb hier, wie in in eine andere Sprache übersetzen ist nicht trennbar, das andere, wie in auf das andere Flussufer übersetzen, ist trennbar. Übrigens werden trennbare Verben auf dem Präfix betont, nicht trennbare auf der Wurzel.

There are two verbs "übersetzen", of which one is separable and the other not. The verb here, as in 'translate into another language', is not separable, the other, as in 'ferry to the other bank of the river', is separable. By the way, separable verbs are accented on the prefix, non-separable one on the root.

Eu acho que é porque o francês tem palavras que são mais familiares para a maioria dos falantes de inglês do que o alemão.
Ma arvan, et see on sellepärast, et prantsuse keelel on sõnu, mis on inglise keele rääkijatele tuttavamad kui saksa keele omad.
I think it's because French has words that are more familiar to most Anglophones than German.

Keine Fälle? (Ich denke nicht, dass das Französisch wirklich einfacher macht, aber manche Leute denken, dass Fälle das schwierigste sind, was eine Sprache haben kann.)
No cases? (I don't think that that really makes French easier, but some people think that cases are the most difficult thing a language can have.)

Le français partage plus de sa vocabulaire que l'allemand avec l'anglais — plus qu'un tiers de la lexique est partagée entre les deux langues, et il y a beaucoup de constructions en français qui sont assez similaire a l'anglais. Aussi la plupart du monde anglophone sont plus familiers avec la français vers la télévision, la gastronomie etc.

French shares more vocabulary with English than German does — more than a third of the lexicon is shared between the two languages, and there are many constructions in French that are quite similar to English. Also most English speakers are familiar with French thanks to (?) television, gastronomy etc.

Für uns Deutsche ist Englisch leichter als Fraanzösisch, weil es eine germanische Sprache ist. Aber wenn man Englisch kann, ist Französisch leichter, weil man viele französische Wörter bereits aus dem Englischen kennt.

For us Germans, English is easier than French because it is a Germanic language. But if you know English, French is easier because you already know many French words from English.

Ich denke, dass Deutsch für Niederländer einfacher ist, aber ich bemerke auch dass es so viele falsche Freunde gibt, sowohl Vokabeln als auch Grammatik, dass es immer noch schwer ist, Deutsch zu lernen.
I think German is easier for Dutch people, but I also notice that there are so many false friends, both vocab and grammar, that it's still difficult to learn German.
