I didn't know that Florida Man was a congressman! That's not surprising though!

Seen on a sign above the M9: "Don't drive tired". Potentially confusing for Americans?
Self-referential signatures are for people too boring to come up with more interesting alternatives.

How so? I have never in my entire life heard or seen "tired" used as an adjective meaning "having tyres".

I assumed it was analoguous to " don't drive crazy".

From this reddit post: "My GF's sister has fed her toddler crisps, multiple times while I was around."

Given that tater tots are a thing I can read that two ways ....

From drudge report:
Impact of Trump tweets on decline ( https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news ... he-decline )

Turns out it's headlinese and omits the "is" after "tweets"

I stopped reading the article when I got to this graf:
In November 2017, Trump’s interaction rate sat at 0.55%, later dropping to 0.32% in June 2017. As of this month, that it has declined to a 0.16% interaction rate.

More sloppy journalism , no surprise.

Oh, that's beautiful!

Kath: the sentence has two completely different meanings depending on how you parse it. And since in this case both sentences happen to be true, it's not entirely clear which one was meant...

[plus, 'painted lady butterflies' is a pretty little ambiguity in its own right, albeit one that's very clear from contextual knowledge]

Is there a record influx of painted lady butterflies, and Britons are urged to help it along, or is there simply an influx of painted lady butterflies, and Britons are urged to help record it?

The actual article seems to indicate it's the latter:

Thanks for the explanation, Raphael. Thanks for trying, Sal, though you were completely unhelpful.

Not a headline but a blurb: "Ivanka Trump will call attention to issues that make it difficult for women in developing countries to prosper financially when she travels to South America in September."
