Some sort of vaguely Oïl-like Romance thing I use as a source of vocabulary for other languages in my story setting; arrived at externally from Latin parlāre → [paɾ̪'l̪æː.ɾ̪ə] → [ppaɾ̪'l̪eə.ɾ̪ə~paɾ̪'l̪eəɾ̪] → [paɾ̪'l̪eɛɾ̪] → [paɾ̪'l̪iɛɾ̪] → [paɾ̪'l̪iæɾ̪] → [pæɾ̪'l̪iæɾ̪], but probably related internally to archaic or dialectal Imishimé 述す「ひやなす」hyanasu "speak of, mention, mention in passing, briefly allude to" (from some sort of internal protoform *parla-r-, *parla-s- "speak, say, allude, refer to, mention").
