I am sick again…and the walk-in clinic TURNED ME AWAY because, despite them still being open, THEY HAD SEEN ALL THE PATIENTS THEY WERE ALLOTTED TODAY.
The worst of COVID is over. There’s no bed shortage or anything. There’s no excuse for this. I’m not going to an ER because I’m in debt enough as it is.
That. is. just. one. big. UGH. "All the patients they were allotted today?" WTF.

A friend of mine said this struck her as “unethical”. I have a fever of 101.2 F (about 38.4 C). Maladies don’t go on holiday just because of some arbitrary quota!

OK. So, good news first: Strep seems to be losing ground to the antibiotics.
Now the bad news: I have realized that I may be bipolar. It would explain a lot. (But are OCD and bipolar disorder even compatible diagnoses?)

Good luck. Getting the right diagnosis might help.
FWIW I'm convinced a close relative has both OCD and bipolar disorder.

Seconded. As for psychological diagnoses in general, I once heard a comment along the lines that they're mainly useful as
starting points.

I am bipolar and have been told I have "OCD tendencies". What I can tell you is getting on the right meds (it might take multiple tries) for bipolar will make all the difference.

From some cursory research it seems that traditional antidepressants are a mixed bag with bipolar disorder…that tracks with mine experience.
From what I’ve briefly read, it seems I’m likely to be a type I affectee.

I am type I, and I've had a horrible time with antidepressants - my psych has specifically said I am not getting them ever again after a disastrous experience with escitalopram.

A combination of the general state of the world and stuff that's happening in the lives of people close to me is making me feel a bit down at the moment. There's beautiful spring/early summer weather outside, but I'm not really in the mood to enjoy it.

Yeah, I know that feeling. I hope things work out for you and your loved ones in any case.

That really sucks, and I hope things turn out okay for those you know. I personally remember times when I'd be in a low mood in the late spring or summer and it making me feel even worse, because I
ought to be feel good about how the season is.

I believe this is also noted to happen around the "holiday season"; if you aren't feeling great, it can make you feel worse because you don't feel good when you're supposed to.

For some reason, it's remarkably hard to find media that I enjoy. It seems every time I find something that clicks, its creators are revealed as milkshake ducks. Inevitably the comic turns into apologia for Japanese war crimes or one of the songs centers on minstrelsy. It makes me afraid to check out anything new and has me listening to the same few songs over and over again.

I overslept today and work up during the 4-hour window during which all water to the building is turned off, so I guess I'm working from home today after all. Fortunately I filled the Brita before going to bed so the worst part is having to go without the bidet.
