Zompist Bboard Again

I was bored, so I created a single Asteroids (tm)-style game for zeptoforth on the PicoCalc, which I have thus dubbed 'Rocks' (since Asteroids (tm) is trademarked by Atari Interactive, Inc.). It does not have flying saucers or points, and the user gains an extra life after every five waves that they beat.

Got to see Guns N' Roses in concert yesterday: 10/10, would go again. They played for three hours (lots of classics and more than a few newer things), and this was on top of the Sex Pistols (minus Johnny Rotten) as the opener (also very good).

Hey, them being an opener is no indication of stature! Some other examples of semi-prominent bands I've seen as openers:

The National for Arcade Fire (in 2007)
Alice Cooper for Iron Maiden (in 2012)
Delain and Sabaton for Nightwish (March 2015)
Amorphis and Arch Enemy for Nightwish (December 2015)
Shinedown for Volbeat (June 2018)

My brother's also seen Megadeth as an opener for Iron Maiden, so being an opener isn't just relegated to bands that've fallen by the wayside.

The A4 stepping of the RP2350 has come out! I have been long awaiting a new stepping of this microcontroller. In particular, I'm very happy that it fixes the E9 erratum where the high impedance state of the Bank 0 GPIO pads was broken in the A2 stepping of the RP2350. Also, with some caveats it is rated to be 5V-tolerant, which definitely is nice. (Note that there is also an A3 stepping of the RP2350, which is identical to the A4 stepping aside from some limited mask ROM differences; the limited number of A3 chips manufactured will go into Pico 2 and Pico 2 W boards, whereas silicon customers of Raspberry Pi Ltd. will receive only the A4 stepping. Also, production of the A2 stepping has been definitively stopped, and Raspberry Pi Ltd. is buying back stock from existing customers.)

Yesterday was a really wonderful day! The highlight was my first swim in my new lab coat, which turned out to be just as fun as I had expected it to be.

Yep. I even sometimes swim in a trench coat, which is a good deal heavier. The weight of clothes in water is often overrated - while water-logged clothes are heavy, in water, clothes are almost weightless - they float around the body. You may look at this video to see how clothes float in water.

Well, it is just fun with the clothes flapping around the body. I also enjoy walking in the wind with my trench coat on for the same reason. (And BTW, the lady in the video I linked is not me (I am male, though asexual). I cited the video just as a demonstration how clothes behave in water.)

hmm, good guess! but those sound a little pricy, and having the knife bleed isn't quite the same as having the book bleed
