If it is not Sino-Tibetan, it probably is an isolate?

Yes, the orthography doesn't mark tone (except, presumably, in one word) and certain vowel contrasts.

Yes, it's either considered an isolate, or a part of a small language family.

I’m going to cry foul about this. I consider these languages to come under the heading of ‘Sino-Tibetan’, or at the very least, to be deserving of something more than an unqualified response ‘No’ to that question.
