Central Sudanic?
Yes.
No.
Once Nort had conveniently eliminated the largest branch of CSudanic, I browsed through the remaining smaller branches until I found one with implosives and labio-velar stops, then checked out the OLAC resources page, and as soon as I saw "Ádá ãpá ká ádá gäshá glĕshë áshá" I knew I was onto it.

Yeah. I have a hunch that Auye is most closely related with Ekari (and that Wolani, which is usually cited as subgrouping with Ekari, is more distantly related to both), but confirming would need a proper look at the data, thankfully we now have a vocabulary and some glossed texts available so it should be doable (and I might try doing it). I'll post a new text tomorrow.

Damn. Yeah, Boghom. (How? I didn't manage to find anything else than this Bible translation, though I didn't look far enough.)Nortaneous wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2024 1:00 pm Chadic. Not Biu-Mandara. No lateral fricatives, /f/, or prenasalization. Seven vowels. <nyw-> and <-kng>. Boghom?
Wordlist, Ctrl+F <nyw>. Are there Boghom materials on Glottolog? Not really. Is there a Bible translation? Yes. There were a lot of dead ends and I spent an hour or two convincing myself it wasn't Biu-Mandara.Karch wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2024 1:44 pmDamn. Yeah, Boghom. (How?
