I skimmed Kim's "Topics in the syntax of Sarikoli" a while ago, and remembered enough of the orthography (namely the existence of <ee> and <eau>) to have an epiphany: it looked weird enough but it was the only option left, and wasn't the word for Nowruz something like "neaureez"?

It's one of the example texts from Kim. I thought the preponderance of final coronals - especially -st -zd - would give it away as Iranian.
