[12] -stwa is used because the rabbits are the referents, not the other animals.
[13] 2nd person plural affixes are formed by concatenating 2s and 3rd person affixes, leaving out the second s. The prefix twun- is a weak imperative.

[14] The cave, not the rabbits, is the primary object of the verb tukanana, to imprison. Night-very-like suggests that there was quite possibly no light in the cave at all.

and since they had been eaten, the affair was a purely internal matter.

[15] ?akniáksu and sutáksu, from ?akni?a and suta (trade and do) are nearly synonymous. Pupwas in this sentence is sheer jargon, but then, so is the original.

against the wolves unless a reason (lit. if no reason) was given for the destruction of the rabbits.

[16] The deliberative verb aspect marker -syin- can also be used as a prefix, where it means roughly “for a purpose”.
