Type rnos towaŋkbuy! Sey:
[‘type’ ʒnos to.waŋ.kbuj | sej]
type r-nos to-wa·m·kbuy! sey
type ACC-that.ANA DEF.SG-AUX·AUX·different! like.this
That depends on the typeface! Like so:
Delving a bit deeper into the design here:
- Interestingly, the best yogh (I think) is in the Light weight of Calibri. Regular Calibri uses an ezh shape, for no obvious reason.
- Google’s face Noto, the Ubuntu face, and Adobe’s typefaces also have nicely-designed yoghs.
- Fira Sans takes the interesting approach of cutting off the tail. It works well enough in running text, but I’m not sure I love it.
- For a font designed for mediaevalists, Junicode is disappointing. Its yogh is generally OK, but has an oddly big serif on the top.
- SIL’s typefaces seem to rather consistently use an italic-styled yogh, which looks fine amongst italic letters (e.g. in Andika), but strangely out-of-place amongst roman letters (as shown for Charis). (Minion also has this problem, though not quite so badly.)
- Brill’s yogh is rather boxy. It is a boxy font, true, but I don’t think it works.
- Inter’s yogh is just dreadful.
