Dis sapos, o fo lis it mek sim, it ja soso wan wan langwic da.
This assumes, or at least makes it look like, there was just a single language there.

Sa, cvathsa Marchalendirinid, hatal mununthul "Proto-Indo-Eurøpirin".
Yes, speak-3SG:A horse-plain-ish-ABL, now call-VN-LOC "Proto-Indo-European".

(Marchalanda 'Horseland' is a country in Elvish mythology, located in what is now Ukraine.)

Fo ray, Indo-Yuropiyan u soso bakbil sapos langwic, im neba de fo ray (fo lis no ina bakbil mol).
Of course, Indo-European is just a reconstructed theoretical language, that didn't actually exist (at least in the reconstructed form).

That depends on your definition. Grammar is difficult, yes, but it is, mostly, final. Vocab on the other hand is never done. And depending on the way word formation works in your language, it can be more difficult than grammar.

That's not true. Indo-European really did exist; it truly was real, a real language! It's just that our knowledge of it is uncertain.
[lit. "That isn't true. The Indo-European really stood; it was truely real, a real tongue. That would better have been said as that a mist lies upon us knowing it."]

[...well that was harder to say than I expected. I'm not certain about some of the constructions used here - they're grammatical, but I'm not certain yet whether they're idiomatic.]

That happens to all of us. The only way to find out what's idiomatic in you language is to use it. Making mistakes is inevitable.

I think it's the creation of words—particularly the etymologies—that holds the most challenge for me when developing my languages.
