Pet peeve: No, it is not possible for ChatGPT to immediately learn everything you say to it. You have to stop training an AI model at cutoff points where its performance is the highest. Also, backpropagation is much more expensive than the forward pass. If OpenAI implemented immediate learning, the model would go crazy and OpenAI would go broke from overusing computational power. Future versions of the model will likely be trained on your feedback though. Also, if security is a concern, OpenAI engineers can probably see your chats while debugging the website.

We and the vet really thought the cat was gonna make it to Christmas, but her condition has significantly worsened as of last week. The steroids seem to have stopped doing their job of reducing her pain so she rasps when breathes and now it turns out she now has end-stage kidney failure. The kidney, spleen, and lymph cancers on top of the CKD has really done a double whammy on her lately.

We can try to get her kidneys working again by Friday by giving her liquid nutrients and water. If it works, we will still have to put her down next Thursday but at least I'll be able to see her again. If it doesn't work, my mum will have to put her down this weekend without me being there.

I am just hoping I get to hold her and pet her one last time before we have to see her go.

We have to put her down tomorrow. She's not improving and she's basically just a lifeless doll in pain and discomfort at this point. Doesn't even respond to pets. It's clearly time to let her go.

I'm so sorry to hear that. At least you chose to put her down sooner rather than later.

Been there myself; it's awful. Much sympathy to you.

Coincidentally, I discovered today that the very lovely cat at the end of the road, which I haven't seen for a long time, was run over a few weeks ago.
"But he had reckoned without my narrative powers! With one bound I narrated myself up the wall and into the bathroom, where I transformed him into a freestanding sink unit.

We washed our hands of him, and lived happily ever after."
