Thanks and  !

doctor shark wrote: Sat Jul 10, 2021 6:07 amAre you now fully done with the Master's degree? (I ask because they do strange things here in Wageningen with when you finish the degree vs. when you defend the thesis.)
Yep! There's no requirement for the project or thesis to be the last thing you do, but that's the way most students handle it (kinda makes sense). I worked on the project during the winter/spring semester - January to April - along with my final regular class, and then continued the project into the 1st session of summer semester since I needed a few more interview sessions for data. That allowed me to focus on the writing after since I no longer had another class, which helped with my sanity! The final product is definitely better than if I had crammed it into just winter/spring semester. Another added bonus is that summer grads walk in graduation ceremonies at the end of fall semester, in December. Those should finally be live once again instead of virtual. I didn't do the ceremonies for my associates or bachelors degrees, so this is a big deal for me.

Let's see: free time. Maybe some conlanging is in order???

You mean x5? :P

For some reason, I thought you had already graduated long time ago. :o (I think because you once posted a paper you wrote on the ZBB, and I mistakenly thought it might be your master's thesis, but perhaps, you meant it was your undergrad thesis. Or it was some other kind of thesis. Or it wasn't a thesis at all and my memory just sucks). Congratulations!

Nope! You do recall correctly that I wrote a paper on the ZBB. That was for one of my 2 classes in my 1st semester of grad school in fall '18. It was a super fun paper to write, but definitely not a thesis.

Late to the Rubblebucket party, but "On this ride I'm the captain / All my friends call me 'Shackleton'" is one of the most unexpectedly brilliant lines I've stumbled across in a pop song in ages.

I’m a bit apprehensive to post this but I want to share it with someone.

I was accepted into Mensa yesterday.

Tonight I made tortitas de huauzontle for the first time and I'm pretty pleased with how well they came out. The recipe was easy (basically a twist on the Glamorgan sausages I make for St David's Day) and the texture was really interesting. Prep is kind of fussy so they'll never be a regular thing but if I'm lucky maybe I can find some place that serves them.
