Not related to frella fountain, but the two are connected in poetry. Variant frél [fʃɛl] also exists, which reflects an original long vowel. Honey can also be called ýrmét bee-sap or bee-syrup.

Now it's my turn to steal your topic for the day.

xiːʃ, water.
ŋibdeˀɣ, bees. This is etymologically a collective formation with the ŋi- prefix, but whatever word was prefixed in this way is now lost. To form a singulative (one bee), one can say: ŋabdeˀɣ qaːd laˀj, <bees feather one>, with the count-word qaːd. After some syntactic changes this sort of construction eventually gives rise to the Kangshi noun class prefixes.
xiːʃ ŋibdeˀɣ, honey. Literally "bee water".

I like the count-word "feather" for bees!

Hey, that's similar to the verb root for "fry up" in Old Sanhr!

12/17 M : fry

Old Sanhr
/gsk’/ “fry” (verb root)

“My grandpa fried up some spicy eel”
[ʊ̃bɛ̃mbɛ̃t gz̩zik'us t'iyukari mɹ̩bei]
/m-bnbn-t gsk'*I-u-s t'ik*u-a-r-i mrb-ei/

Tl’acho
/(v)ch'aak(sh)/ “fry” (active verb root)

“(I hear) you two really frying some taro”

/Cá-chixw-(v)ch'aak(sh)=tey-n,xo:-v^kw/
intens-taro-fry=prog-n.pst,2du-near.aud

Σαμχαλης
<δαπσε> /dapse/ (verb) “fry” (I'm not using "ψ" for /ps/, but instead for /ʂw/ - still sibilant + labial, just ... differently)

“Can you fry me an egg?”
κη τε χαυ δαπσε φοι ιογυ?
/kɛ̃: te xau dapse pfoi io=gu/

Lexember 18:

I'm eager to see what comes from this theme, both for Msérsca and for y'all's languages. Words of containment, packaging, and giving can go together in lots of fun ways, and they're in a semantic space that can be easy for a conlanger to overlook.

onnolar
[ˈɔnːɔlaɾ]
to wrap, envelop, roll up; to patch up, make a quick fix
Related to onnor to be flat. We can say onnola or onnolaédea for wrapping (paper).

onocrar
[ˈonɔcraɾ]
to package, pack, sheave; to do up, doll up, make fashionable
This has got to be related to onnolar. Maybe some combination of onnor and crar to erect, build up, with compensatory shortening of the geminate before a long onset.

uttame
[ˈʏtθamɛ]
sheet, page

Brav'onnolan uttami eas stem.
[braˈvɔnːɔlan ˈʏtθami jas stɛm]
three-wrapping-GEN sheet-PL 1S-DAT be.left.PRES-PL
I have three sheets of wrapping paper left.
