what about "JUST a minute"? That's a pretty clear stressed schwa for me. and i mean schwa [ə] at the surface level, not saying it sounds like STRUT or COMMA or PUT.

i'd probably have schwa in stressed "gonna" too, but i just never grew up saying that word so i feel like i'm imitating someone i knew from childhood just by saying it, and may be subconsciously using his pronunciation.

When I try to use stressed schwa in gonna or just it comes out as sounding like "ginna" or "jist".

I can't persuade myself I didn't say it the same as 'gist', but I was dissuaded from saying it that way as a child.
