I did a presentation (slides in ODP format, with video, and in PDF format, without video yet somehow having a larger file size) on zeptoforth's multitasking and multiprocessing capabilities for SVFIG yesterday, which went well, if a bit long.

Happy Pączki Day (in the US - Pączki Day occurred last week in Poland, or if you're in Chicago you have Pączki Day twice a year)

I got my apricot pączek and it was glorious. It was also nice to sit with my coworkers and shoot the shit again; it's been too long since we've been able to do that.

Happy Saint David's Day! / Dydd Gŵyl Dewi hapus!

Grab yourself a Welsh cake, a daffodil, a leek, a silly dragon hat and have a sing-song!

Sadly, my dragon hat is very old and tired. (Wish I could find a new one, but that specific model appears to have gone out of production. Sadness.)

Happy: Germany trip for a conference at the end of the month!

I think I have the wrong kind of dragon, but I do like daffodils.

I think I have finally gotten my new heap allocator working in zeptoforth, after all this testing and debugging.

I got writing to flash working in zeptoforth while running code on both cores of the RP2040, which is very exciting (currently this in the devel branch only). (I have yet to get erasing flash while running code on both cores of the RP2040 and then immediately after the reboot writing to flash again working, though.)

And I got erasing the flash while the second core is running working!

This old junk laptop survived me replacing the RAM and doing some internal spill clean-up on my own. I was not confident that would be the case.

I'm making progress on this fiction draft, and raising my weekly word quota again. I've gotten bogged down a few times but I'm finding tricks to keep the momentum going.

I'm glad for the unseasonably warm weather my state has had this week, and I enjoyed some long midwinter walks. But the sound of the wind outside tells me those will be the last I'll get for a while.

And two more of Zompist's books will arrive next week. ;)

No, that's the thing from Tales of the Abyss. Or was it Xenogears?

And release 0.27.0 of zeptoforth is out!

I think I fixed my multipriority multicore multitasking issue with zeptoforth, finally, so maybe we will see a new zeptoforth release soon. I am going to do some more testing, though, before I send it on its merry way.

Prior to making a release, I did more testing of zeptoforth, and found a number of bugs that have since been fixed; I am glad I did this testing before actually making another release so the release I do make with be more solid as a whole rather than having to go back and fix things after I spend the time making a new release.

Release 0.29.0 of zeptoforth is out, which fixes quite a few bugs in zeptoforth (but is a minor rather than patch release due to making a couple breaking identifier changes), and I have already made subsequent improvements destined for a future release (to make task queues order tasks by priority)!
