Jay Slater's mum 'accused of his murder by trolls'
(Both this and last from the BBC. Perhaps they’re trying to usurp The Grauniad?)

For starters, when I read this headline here I immediately thought of the high fantasy meaning of 'troll', not the online version, and furthermore I wasn't sure if it was the trolls accusing his mom, or his mom enlisted trolls to murder her son.

Personally I would expect one to be more likely to be murdered by trolls in someplace like Norway than Tenerife...

The first ten words of this headline on their own sound like the title of some not-at-all family-friendly entertainment.

Henrik Ibsen certainly thought that the mountains of Norway would be a typical place to find trolls.

The humans of Norway might well go on vacation to Tenerife if they have the money and are into sunny beach vacations. So why shouldn't the trolls?

No, it’s a perfectly normal expression. A vehicle is said to ‘mount’ a footpath or the curb if its wheels go up over the edge of the road.
(More generally, I’d say that the sexual use of ‘mount’ is actually fairly rare. Most of the time it’s just an ordinary verb.)
