Done! I sent the Portuguese to Ser and the English to Moose.

My first thought is that my OC is really rusty if not outright bad. But after working with the text, I think I got most of it. Some bits are already a little odd. There's one bit that's going to seem pretty weird, but I blame the Chinese writing system.

Sorry, but I think Moose-tache needs the Portuguese, too.

Some bits were definitely odd---I'm very curious to see what you made of them!

We'll see! In the end I think I figured it out reasonably well.

You know, I'm starting to think Old/Classical Chinese wasn't quite equipped to translate my SFF collection.
I did it. I made the world's worst book review blog.

That reminds me, still have to send you my English translations---so you'll know what I thought I was reading in Vijay's Turkish, and what I thought I was writing in my Chinese. (But I can't see getting to it tonight.)

IMO that shouldn't be too surprising, but it should make the results more interesting. ;)

Given that there are only two translators left who have been slated for Translation 2, shouldn't we decide what happens after Ser translates it into Latin? Can we get a Hero From Team 1 yet? Or should we have mèþru translate from Latin to English instead of French?

I'll revolunteer to do the final translation for team 2 as well as team 1, I figure they will be different enough to avoid cross contamination.

The two chains use different passages, so there's no reason why a person can't be in both chains. I'm just deciding what's the best thing to do. Most likely I'll accept Nerulent's gracious offer to translate French to English. But if Team 2 finishes soon enough we might do something fancy and go French > ??? > English. It depends. For now, Nerulent be ready to translate French to English.

Yeah, sorry. I'm finishing my master thesis, and I'm in crunch mode, sleeping like 3 hours a night. I'll be on it tomorrow.

Yes, good luck, and I'm sorry; I was just curious about where we were since no one had said anything in a few days!

OK, I have finally sent my master thesis. I can now resume my normal activities, which include (1) translating the text, and (2) get a full night's sleep for a change. Sorry for the delay, my turn arrived at the very worst possible time.

By the way, I apologize for giving a greater priority to other things these days. I'll do the translation tomorrow evening (PST time; i.e. near 6 a.m. of Wednesday in GMT).
