Words become stressed on the inital syllable. Then unstressed syllables elide

New word stolen from Nostraic. Means heart in Nostraic but here it means fire.

['kʼard]

k'ard

From this we see its most basic changes in eastern and western subgroups namely the fronting of its so called called "mid" vowels *a, *ɤ, *ɯ before liquids in eastern while in western such vowels become rounded. You can chose to evolve from one or both of these starting points.

['kʼærd]

Eastern A devoices final vowels:

['çærːi̥]
härri

Eastern B basically goes the Ubykh route:

['hʲɐrːʷə]
herru

Retroflex-induced vowel breakage occurs in Western:

['qɔʌ̯ɽːə]
qårra

Eastern A: [æ] > [eə]

['çeərːi̥]
härri

Eastern B [rʷ] > [ɫ]

['hʲɐɫːə]
herru

Western undergoes Satemisation:

['kɔʌ̯ɽːə]
kårra

Eastern A *rː > dʒ / _E:

['çeədʒi̥]
härri

Eastern B *ʲɐ > ea̯ in environments of palatalization:

['hea̯ɫːə]
herru

Intervocalic *ɽː becomes ɖʐ in Western:

['kɔʌ̯ɖʐə]
kårra
