I got some hours of sleep that were actually at night last night, and then I woke up at a reasonably "normal" time! Yay!

I have Internet again after three long hours without it! (Yes, I have my smartphone, but I would prefer to not stare at my phone's small screen if I can help it or use up megabytes of cell phone data.)

I scored a $400 Polk sound bar for $150 on Woot. My television is just old enough that it lacks either an optical out or HDMI ARC, but a cheap 3.5mm-to-optical converter later and it works.

Also I finally put the LEDs to backlight the TV. It looks sick.

Young people today, honestly! When I was young we had to go 24 hours each day without the Internet, and we had no choice!

And we didn't even realise we were lacking it!

Aye, so much we didn't realise when we were young.

I spent most of today doing various things that had to do with managing my emails, mostly deleting old ones. All in all it's been a pretty productive day.

In world-shaking news, I have successfully completed a number of administrative and technology-related tasks that I had set for myself.

I wanted/needed something done by my phone company, and it apparently got done quickly and without any problems! When I called them, I didn't have to wait in line at all - someone answered the phone right away. They were both friendly and competent, understood what I wanted, and did it without giving me any trouble. OK, they did try to sell me something I didn't want, but that's unfortunately pretty much par for the course these days, and they instantly accepted my "no".

This was one of the best experiences with a phone company I ever had!
