Latin questions

Post by Emily »

hey all, i have a couple of latin questions i'm hoping someone knows the answer to:
  • can "sacrifico" be transitive or is it only intransitive? or maybe intransitive but the thing sacrificed can be dative or ablative or something?
  • is there a noun form for "elicio"? (like elicitatio or something)

1. My dictionary lists it as transitive, FWIW.
2. In Medieval Latin, yes! Dunno about classical.

It's not in L&S, so if it existed, it must have been rare.
