So I finished translating all the texts into the Ancient Africa Conlang. Now I'm up to Text D, Page I for translating them all into the Okrand Atlantean Conlang. I haven't put it all on the website yet, though. I've decided to type up all the Atlantean, then all the Ancient Africa Conlang. I've thou...

I don’t think that’s preposterous at all — I think it’s very, very normal. The "preposterous" part is supposed to be an alliterative joke. A question: how is it possible to only have one noun class? The whole point of noun classes is to have more than one of them! (Or at least that’s the ...

Here's Pages B and C from Text D. In case there's any new readers, here's the link to where I'm putting all this online. I haven't added the grammar yet for Ancient Africa Conlang, though, that's only here. New Texts in Okrand Atlantean with an Ancient African Conlang: Medieval West Africa Texts htt...

Normal Bantu verb morphology seems to be: subject-tense-object-VERB.ROOT For some reason, for my Ancient Africa Conlang, I chose: subject-tense-VERB.ROOT-object-indirect.object I think this defies language universals. I forget why I did it, too, and can't find notes on it. Maybe I couldn't find wher...

Update on work on Okrand Atlantean and my Ancient Africa Conlang translations: I have finished draft translations of everything now. I asked Zompist and he thought I should only post my translations on one thread. So I'll be posting them on this one. Except this final post. Here's the other thread, ...

Unless I’m missing something, I’m pretty sure his last post didn’t have any glosses either. AND he has the audacity to make this request: One thing that the Zompist conlangs have over conlangs from famous books, movies, and tv is that they're more often well-presented in terms of grammars, dictiona...

Thanks! I’m also working on a future Spanish conlang that’s spoken in Cuba. Post about it here if you can. You should make websites for your conlangs, if you haven't already. I don't remember. You know what would be cool? Future versions of languages like English or Spanish that develop huge tone s...

If you gloss this, Bob, there might be something to comment on. I hope to photograph all my notes and get them online in a week or so. But they're only partial interlinear glosses and partial gloss vocabularies with etymology notes. I might gloss some of it more for show but it's a lot to gloss. I'...

Re: Imitation French Beginner Conlang 5 9 2020 (Not entirely by Me)
The "happen" verb and how it's so different to indicate grammatical gender might be a Mayan Hieroglyphic idiomatic thing and a grammatical thing like in Indigenous New World (Amerind, Native American) languages. That sounds pretty interesting — I hadn’t heard of a ‘happen’ verb being used...
