Movement & Exercise
Common Caber
The Caber concept of rŭnme /ɾɨnˈmɛ/ (haplology of rŭn ‘forest, stand of trees, glade’ + -Vnme DELOCATIVE VERBALIZER) is a yoga-like sort of breathing-exercises-plus-stretches-plus-meditation-plus-spiritual-connection. This can be done privately, as a family, or as a ragtag group in a given town who pays an itinerant instructor a few clams once in a while to run things. Hallucinogens, dissociatives, and narcotics are sometimes given out (deliriants if you’re supremely curious, supremely pious, supremely distressed, or supremely dumb).
Nautical Terms
Íröd has two moons of appreciable size. In CT, the larger is called Hö É⅁ris /hø̀ éŋrìs/ ‘big brother; elder (of two)’ and Hö Mïsteg /hø̀ mɯ̀stèx/ ‘little brother; junior (of two)’. These terms é⅁ris and mïsteg can be applied namesake-to-name-recipient, though it has considerably more latitude than we’re used to—Khuú Mïsteg could have received the name from one of his fathers, uncles, cousins, or any male relative farther back (provided the individual in question was alive within living memory of the bestowing parent’s family or caste, as applicable). It can also be conferred onto twin births, in which case the terms are conferred in birth order. For triplets on up (exceeding rare though they be), there is no one single Tim Ar convention; the most common ones you’re likely to run across are imör /ìmø̀ɹ/ ‘finally, at last, took long enough’, mrúğ /m̩ɹúʕ/ ‘last, final, ultimate’, még /méx/ ‘enough, sufficient’, and nídí /níθí/ [níðí] ‘good, upstanding’.
All this to say, there are two lunar1 tidal cycles that affect the planet, and I have to actually work out what they are in practice2. I do know enough, however, that there will be tides that are more or less pronounced when the two interfere with each other (and then further when solar gravity causes its own interference effects).
Old Oidonese
Moons are useful nautical concepts. The Old Oidonese terms were Äzäjingou /ædzædʲiŋu/ [æzædʒiŋʉ] and Adzadjıllosıtsı adzadjıllosıtsı /ɑdzɑdʲiɬositsi/ [ɑdzɑdʲiɬositsi] for the smaller and larger moon, respectively (äzäji ‘disc, orb; firefly’ + ngou ‘impatience’ / llosıtsı ‘meticulousness, attention to detail’). As water-centric as Oido lifestyle was, they were able to figure out in considerable detail the workings of the tides. At its simplest, you had guıæpuınganæ /gʷigæpʷiŋɑn̪æ/ [gʷiæpʷiŋɑn̪æ] ‘relative high tide’ and badıquolro /bɑdikʷoɺo/ [bɑdiqʷoɺo] ‘relative low tide’. High and low tide from Äzäjingou were called lloquı’otsæ’æ /ɬokʷiʔotsæʔæ/ [ɬoqʷiʔotsæʔæ], which is the same word as is used for diarrhea3, and seyoudroutlou /sejuɾut̪u/ [sejʉɾʉtɬʉ] ‘pathetic effort, lack of attention, pitiable attempt, ineffectiveness, impotence’. As for those caused by Adzadjıllosıtsı, high tide was llei käsimuäyäläyäi ‘the threats, the cautions’ and low tide was dlouärhäwirhechou /d̪ugæχʀægʷiχʀetʲu/ [dɮʉæχʀæwiχʀtʃʉ] from doarhai /dogɑχʀɑgi/ [doɑχʀɑi] ‘easing, relaxing, loosing, relieving’ + rhechou /χʀetʲu/ [χʀetʃʉ] ‘hand’ (here metonymically more like ‘pressure, control, restraint (of s.o./s.t. else)’).

- In addition to the effects of the solar tide from Xi Boö A, which I’ve yet to figure out.
- It was a long time since I’ve sought recourse to Shagomir's Planet Calculator but I still have the Írödian base spreadsheets in a location where I can find them. I do recall I had some stupid specific resonance that I purloined from the Venus–Earth situation.
- Some have suggested this was an effect of early Caber cultural diffusion given the Caber cultural conceits of a weak stomach being a sign of not being a sociopath—after all, someone who’s got a strong stomach for things obviously is a soulless, compassionless virus of pure EEEEEEVIL if they can do certain things or observe certain effects without feeling at least a little queasy.

Proto-Dujajikiswâ
NB: Phonemes in parentheses only appear when a suffix does not exist to support the syllable.
ya’tingko /jaʔtiŋkɔ/ ‘to rise/set (of the sun)’
This verb’s behavior is highly unusual: whether the sun is rising or setting is indicated using the benefactive or the malefactive applicative, plus an object, the idea being that the sun benefits you when it’s rising and is hurting you when it sets (thereby depriving you of its light).
eya’tingkang
‘the sun rises’
ki’a’tingkang
‘the sun sets’
engakałdô /ɛŋakal̪t̪o/ ‘train, exercise’ < e- BENEFACTIVE + ngakałdô ‘put together, form, maintain, keep together, oversee, rule’
When a benefactive appears without a direct object, it’s treated as a self-benefactive (vel sim. with, e.g., the malefactive).
Âj yongakałdô.
‘he is about to train’
Verbs of motion in PD tend to use the locative applicative ng-.
bitsangn(e) /pitsaŋn(ɛ)/ ‘put, set; (+ BEN) place, set on (s.t.), install; (+ MAL & IRR) misplace, lose, wrongly set’
dikajjikajji /t̪ikatʲːikatʲːi/ ‘tumble end-over-end’

- The seawater on Íröd tends to be green or brown/red/yellow/orange/‘muddy” due to high iron content. While we’re at it, dahsar blood is purple when oxygenated and clear when not (because hemerythrin), and their urine tends to have a reddish cast (cf. the Earth phenomenon of vin rose urine due to high iron content).

Re: Lexember 2025
Wouldn't light (white, yellow)-colored plants be evolutionarily disfavored because they would be less efficient at absorbing light energy?

Re: Lexember 2025
I do not know. All I know is that it happened that there’s an entire kingdom-equivalent taxon of plantlike things whose analogue to chlorophyll is more on the yellow side of things. Íröd looks a lot different from Earth…the oceans are either green or else algal-stained red, brown, white, and/or black, and it’s covered in a lot of reds, blacks, and yellows.
