For years, lobster catches in N. S. bay dropped; then, the Mi’kmaq fishery was launched. I'm not sure how else I could read it.

[Premier’s lover] fixed [pub meeting (which) [ministers refused]]

That is, the Premier’s lover fixed (=arranged) a meeting in a pub, said meeting having previously been refused by the Premier’s ministers.

A particular catch of lobsters was literally dropped into the Bay (which was how I began reading it).

Is this making the point that parsing doesn't resolve ambiguity, as in the assertion that conspirators must hang together?

I don't think the full sentence is particularly ambiguous, but the fragment I took in initially certainly was.

Walmart removes guns and ammunition from store floors amid civil unrest
from Twitter. Having worked in retail I didnt even notice anything odd, but then i realized not everyone knows that "floor" is metonymic for "sales floor", i.e. the store itself. We could make a few other things out of this if we really wanted, too.

Odd that they didnt just use "stores".

edit: .... mmm, i just woke up. i think i see now why they wrote it that way .... Walmart is still selling guns, ... they just wont be on display like they have been in the past. hence they're still in the stores, just not on the "floor".

Not a headline, but a post from the ZBB: From the Elections in various countries thread:

In other election news, the Republic of Palau had their presidential election on November 3, between the president's current vice president, and his American brother-in-law.

Not a headine either, but someone from the BBC recently said something like "the number of deaths from the coronavirus exceeded expectations".
Self-referential signatures are for people too boring to come up with more interesting alternatives.
