But if you forget everything, you can't know anything. So, while memory isn't the same as knowledge, the existence of memory does imply that knowledge is possible.

Impossible things happen in dreams.
Fenyur lhedyemyus dolos abisharur lhedyemyu. Odatyu-a lhedyahi ekitto estan. Doloero-ti lhedyen.

Things which happen in the mind are different from things that happen in the real world. Both still happened and are thus real. They just happened in different ways.

If you believe in an objective reality, you also must believe in ways to discover it.

Why is this conversation important?
My name means either "person who trumpets minor points of learning" or "maker of words." That fact that it means the latter in Sindarin is a demonstration of the former. Beware.

No, oba nes wan lojik folo pwaya wan. Wen yu in go difen som mana fi fayn impacl raynis don, omana yu me difen im?
No, but the latter logically follows from the former. If you don't believe there's a way to discover objective reality, how can you believe in it?

Tsazáguyo, dízuzagutsihho gahòsin. Tsantadayo tsánzun san tsohhíhha tsánzun ba-jau...
Indeed, I believe so as well. Truth is not the same as knowledge of the truth...
Ye knowe eek that, in forme of speche is chaunge
With-inne a thousand yeer, and wordes tho
That hadden pris, now wonder nyce and straunge
Us thinketh hem; and yet they spake hem so,
And spedde as wel in love as men now do.

Agreed. Reality just is, it doesn't need anybody's believe. But people need believe to acknowledge the idea that an objective reality even exists.
