Womb is a basic lexical item that I add any time I start a new language, often with a very short word like ā or pap/. Placenta tends to be a historically derived root, though in modern times opaque, such as Poswa pobbaba and Pabappa wabusa. Most of the words in the outer languages are distantly cognate to Pabappa's, such as

Galà săŋo
Olati šikăňo
Subumpamese mićămʷo
Paleo-Pabappa mikămo
Proto-Hipatal mikăŋʷa
East Dreamlandic miššanua
North Dreamlandic mittanua

Some of these may later change, but the sound changes leading to them are solid.

Good one, I'll just stick to Poswa for this.
befwampa "to make enemies of friends", from historically independent roots be "friend" + fapu "enemy" + -mpa (translative).

Poswa:
pippepene "to steal, rob"
puspepene "to steal something valuable and not easily replaceable"

The -pene suffix is common on words indicating violent or criminal actions. But with verb inflections on, it regularly contracts to just /b/:

Libitiopul pippebebul!
blow.bubbles-tool-1P-ACC-2P.past steal-TR.2P.past
You stole my bubblegum!

Pamumbopul puspebebul!
heart-1P-ACC-2P.past steal-TR.2P.past
You stole my heart!

I might change the word for bubblegum, but I might keep it .... note that there is already a word for a soap bubble wand, libila, which uses the common -la suffix for handheld objects. This frees up the -tos ending ("that by which") for the food. If I change it, it'll probably be a new word for gum derived from the word for pine resin.

Pabappa:
pol ponil

Mas bupu putibap pol poni!
you hat-POSS-1P-ACC steal-Ø-PAST!
You stole my hat!

I havent worked with Pabappa lately, and it's really fallen far behind Poswa. The sound change of /iV/ > /i/ really broke the language such that more than half of the inherited vocabulary collides with other words, and I'm going to need to relexify the whole language just to get back to where I was before. But that sound change does help me in a roundabout way create verb inflections that delete the final /l/ of the verbs they belong to. Is there a word for a morpheme that erases other morphemes and then itself disappears?
