The thing is then, if your "back translation" doesn't require any abbreviations or grammatical categories at all, it seems like it's more or less a cypher of English, even if, as you said, the word order can be different. Or it's simply a very crude and inexact gloss. I now understand what you meant about it being suitable for isolating languages though. If you can assign an English word to each word in the source language, then your crude gloss doesn't even need hyphens. If you ever have a word that needs two or more English words to translate it though, you'll need to join them with full stops like.this.

Also, the aesthetics just changed. The post I'm replying to doesn't contain any "special characters" ... seems suspiciously like you're just keyboard smashing and then telling us it means whatever and couldn't be bothered opening Character Map this time.

They’ve been doing that all along. I’m pretty sure they just have two languages.

Your English gloss strongly implies differently. If you have coherent strings of symbols which mean a single thing and can’t be broken up into components, those are ‘words’ by the usual definition.

(This conversation is getting increasingly hard to have in any of our conlangs, I feel…)

I've reviewed his posts and none of his "letters" match.

His "transcription" is even more inconsistent than his "glossing". Go on, have a look at his posts and compare the English to his "ScRiPt". He's quite clearly trolling us. This will be my last post on the subject.
