Sound Laws

Post by Man in Space »

I’m attempting to compile a list of named sound laws for hosting on a page on my LCS hosting space. IE sound laws are quite well-known, I have a list of Tibetan sound laws, and I know of a few others (Dahl’s law, Klingenheben’s law). Any more obscure ones you all know of from families outside IE?

It’s not a theoretical argument or anything, just a list of miscellanea that I figure might be useful to give people ideas.

Not too much diachronic, but Meeussen's Rule in Bantu and Lyman's Law in Japanese.
EDIT: And of course, Whorf's Law.

There's also Arisaka's Law regarding the distribution of vowels in Old Japanese.
