Personal health of members.

Post by TomHChappell »

I had a car collision. My left hip got broken. The ball part of the femur, which is the ball part of the ball-and-socket joint, is broken into three or more pieces. It will have to be replaced. Part of the pelvis is the socket part. It is cracked. It will also have to be replaced(?) or resurfaced (?) or something. I’ve already had one surgery. If it went particularly well, I might not need a second surgery.
So, all the plans I had about starting to date again, are on indefinite hold.

Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. Very sorry to hear that. Not sure if it'll help, but let me wish you good luck.

That's really awful. All the best for a full recovery.

I hope everything goes well with the surgeries and recovery, but that's certainly rough, Tom.

I have been moved to a physical rehabilitation facility. I chose one close to my daughter.
I had my first PT this morning.

Good recovery to you!

In less world-shaking news, one of my dental crowns fell out. Again.

Ouch. If it is the same crown, the tooth is obviously deeply rotten and must be removed. But I am not a dentist; yet, I have had similar problems with one tooth, which was finally removed.

Does the Billie Eilish song about “You Should See Me In a Crown” apply ?

Belatedly, Tom, I'm really sorry to hear about this -- that can be a hell of an injury! -- but my sluggishness lets me read you're already getting going in PT! Best wishes for a fast and full recovery!

Yes! Today I got dressed (with assistance), walked (with assistance) the 1 step necessary to get into a wheelchair, went to the gym, and exercised! And I rolled up and down the corridors in the wheelchair! And they’ve been talking about me taking a shower!
