You are mangling "hierarchy" with the word "hear", which you are more used to seeing or typing.

Hm, that might actually be true.

Not that I know of, but there might be a research grant in there somewhere.

Our AC unit seems to have died. With it running (and it being 68F - 20C outside), it's still 80F - 27C inside :?

At least we're renting, so we don't have to pay for the fix

For a couple of days in a row, I've occasionally gotten Die Stem stuck in my head. Since I'm politically not at all a fan of the old South Africa, I wish I could find some effective way to make that stop.

IMO, not really a good title for a 1980s satirical song attacking Botha & co., because when you're doing satire, people tend to assume that you're being sarcastic, and mean more or less the opposite of the literal meaning of your words.

Finally had a guy come out and look at it. The compressor is shot, could take days to get it fixed up. Hopefully before Saturday, as the heat will be really kicking in then...

They have cold in Australia outside the Snowy Mountains?

(I know someone in Australia and his idea of a cold winter day is 50's F... which here in the middle of the winter would be downright pleasant...)

Downright pleasant? If that is indeed 10-15°C then that would be a record-breakingly hot February here, and you seem to get snow every winter, which we very much don't. Would it not be oddly warm for you?

Maybe that's what Travis meant by "downright pleasant"?
