I might be able to finish this weekend, but that's still rather unlikely. At the absolute latest I'd estimate that I need until Tuesday. Does that work?

That should be alright. Travis is pretty consistent and if he gets pushed back it's only me after him anyway.

I am fine if my part of the relay gets delayed.

It dawned on me this morning as I was finishing translation that I need a dictionary and a grammatical sketch of Kirñí, which I don't have as I've just been using a messy collection of google sheets. I'm currently trying to throw something together, but it's looking as though I'm not going to have the time. I'd hate to delay the relay any longer than I already have, so I'm considering just skipping my leg of the relay. does that work?

No, I'm not in a hurry to do my part of the relay. Go ahead and spend the time necessary to prepare your part.

Since we're so close to the end and Travis is okay with a delay, you can have until next the coming weekend to finish.

"A late job is late until it's done. A bad job is bad until the end of time."
The deadlines are a means to an end. It's almost always better to wait and see a finished grammar than simply skip a whole conlang.

Just so you know, I have not received any DM's or emails about this.

Edit: Make sure you are not having problems sending DM's (which I have heard of people having before), because if you sent me DM's (which I did not get) that could also be the case with /ˌnɐ.ˈɾɛn.dɚ.ˌduːd/.

I should clarify, Glass never sent me the full torch, so I can't send it to you, so I've asked him to send it.

Original text:

Flann O'Brien wrote:When I was born there was a certain policeman present who had the gift of wind-watching. The gift is getting very rare these days. Just after I was born he went outside and examined the colour of the wind that was blowing across the hill. He had a secret bag with him full of certain materials and bottles and he had tailor's instruments also. He was outside for about ten minutes. When he came in again he had a little gown in his hand and he made my mother put it on me.

Final text:

Blann O'Frien wrote:Chenamola thought that he came from that high place with the small knights and the king who founded the small world. A blessing came with light from that place. He brandished his axe at the nest his heart was from, and from which Mashle and Tushcheya had both travelled. They passed each other with the speed and colour of rabbits. He and his mother woke each other and jumped up, running to the nest they’d built together with love, stirring them. She was the reason the ten children had done this journey while they waited in their nest. Her heart grew pure and powerful. She then cast small flowers from their nest into their hearts.

It is said she was born with a policeman who held a gift, the feeling of wind with her face A rare and valuable gift now Born to go outwards, he touched something within her, the colour of the wind, which goes across the hill She was within her mothers womb, there a certain substance, spark and shaping I stood within a pace And my soul stood again as she dressed me in a tiny gown

3. Bradrn (Eŋes)

The queen created the earth, so they say, together with a small knight from Kenamuramake, ‘he who ended the awakening heaven’. It was now a clear gift. She made the earth in order to leave this axe of the heart of the nests, going to Eńimatee [place of the Tai], city of the Tuśikaa. She awakened colour after going across the rabbit. Within the womb the mother went and loved her: it is the little spark within her that the holy earth went to. She made it the foundation within 10 minutes. After her soul and heart were pure she made the base, additionally showering her with many small flowers from the mother.

4. Morkai5 (Naucan)

It is said that the king has made earth, with a small knight that destroys the heavens, where Kenamuramake comes from. A bright gift now. You have done it, his axe came to nest their heart, Fe’tay has gone, Tusika is their city. A color woke him up, passing over a rabbit. The mother is going to love what is inside her womb: there is a small spark inside, the holy earth has gone to her. They have become a base 10 minutes in the womb. His heart increases power and this has just made it purified, a little flower is going to be put above where the mother comes from, also.

5. Man In Space (Classical ⅁are n Tim Ar)

It is said that kings, with the small knights who destroy the heavens (where Kenamuramake comes from), make the world. The gift now brings light. You made it so his axe came for the nest where his heart lived, where Phetay went, like Tuskia before them. The color woke him up, passing over the rabbit, and mother will love that which is inside her own womb, the small spark inside it; the sacred ground went to him. He spent ten minutes in the womb on account of them. Her heart made her power increased and pure, and small flowers from mother’s home would be placed in her heart as well.

6. Glass Half Baked (Gullahonka)

It is said about the high places where Ken comes from that the world was destroyed by rulers with their little horsemen who ended the high places. Now the blessing brings the light to your place here. You swing the axe at the nest, the nest where her heart lives, where Mary goes, the same way as Tusk before them. Quicker than a rabbit she woke up with color, and made the mother love her, who was in her womb, that is the spark inside her, and made the land move for her. She went into the womb and waited ten times because of them. Her heart swelled and grew pure, giving her strength, and small flowers from the mother’s home went into her heart.

Thoughts: Generally this went quite well without major delays. I think people struggled with some languages, either from sparsity of writeup or complexity of the language, but that's fine and was within reasonable limits. The biggest drift of the text happened during Foxcatdog's torch where he took some liberties in adapting it to be a creation story of his conworld, and also inserted a number of characters of his own divising. Afterwards all the changes were fairly predictable.

Feel free to post your torch if you want to share. Here's mine: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eRMqo8QYhb9oBkw7n-Wmf4m_ZbRqf-c6/view

My text roughly translates as:

Kinamula, who was from a high place, a small horse warrior together with the ruined high place, spoke about the chief who built the small world. Then a blessing came with the light. Swinging an axe toward the nest where his heart resided, Mahli went, as had Tuskiya. They colorfully, quickly passed the rabbit and woke its mother, who in a flash sat in its nest, which it built with love, where it caused a stir. Ten young were its reason to go where they were waiting inside their nest. Its heart grew and became pure and strong. Then, the small flower from their nest went inside its heart.
