This is my new conlang. It's a dialect of Māori which is spoken in the Auckland islands. It doesn't have the sounds /k/ or /f/. The grammar is different. I don't know if I will continue writing in it. I want to write in it now.

EDIT: I originally wrote nui for "new" the first time, but it should have been ou (hou in Māori). Nui means "big" ...

They gave me a number. They called all of us by the numbers instead of our names. They made us wear them on our shirts.

But we kept taking them off. They were easy to take off. So instead they put them on our bodies.

I still have mine. It doesn't just mean I was number 17. It means I survived.

No, it had nothing to do with the Holocaust -- it's speculation about part of the backstory in my novel. There are similarities, yes, but I wasn't thinking of that when I wrote my post. I had a properly conlang-y response typed up, but I've been told my original post was inappropriate, so perhaps I shouldn't go into any more detail. I've removed the offending text.
