Index SCAica

Post by Zju »

I know about alice, bradrn and zompist, but who else has an SCA that is actively used and/or developed?

There’s Lexurgy, whose creator is (I believe) not on this forum. If you drop the requirement for ‘active development’ I could add many others to the list.
Conlangs: Scratchpad | Texts | antilanguage
Software: See http://bradrn.com/projects.html
Other: Ergativity for Novices

(Why does phpBB not let me add >5 links here?)

Mine's no longer active (or at least not shared), but I did write one in Haskell. It was pretty cool writing my own featural/phonemic regex engine in a functional language.

I still think that mine is/was really good, but the great problem with SCAs is that while everyone thinks theirs does it best, there's not a huge user pool and distributing / maintaining / supporting / hosting stuff is a thankless task. I did host a Javascript UI for it for a while, but eventually... *shrug*

Ditto. I've been thinking of maintaining an index of SCAs (location, features, syntax overview, etc) as a mid- or longterm project, though some of them not being available after a while is an issue.

Self-referential signatures are for people too boring to come up with more interesting alternatives.

Come on now, you can't just mention it without providing a link to it.

This was something I started a thread about some time ago, and it never went anywhere, so there's probably not enough of substance to be worth linking to.
